Emma Fitzpatrick is an award-winning Irish artist based in Belfast. Deeply inspired by nature, she seeks to capture the spirit of Ireland’s rugged landscape using a distinctive palette knife technique. Her practice is grounded in a slow, intuitive process, building rich, layered surfaces with mixed media and oil paint until the work feels alive.
A graduate of Textile Design from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin, Emma brings a tactile sensibility to her painting. Texture, colour, and space are central concerns in her work, driven by a deep-rooted passion for the sensory experience of making.
Fitzpatrick is best known for her large-scale, highly textured landscape paintings, which often break from traditional methods—removing the canvas from the easel and experimenting with unconventional tools and materials.
After extensive travel, Emma settled in Belfast, where she teaches Art & Design and works from her home studio. Her paintings are held in private collections across Ireland and internationally.
